We will quickly cover 5 important things to know when getting a snow cone machine rental in Indianapolis.  They are definately a niche item that is offered by a few companies here in the Fishers, Carmel, Indianapolis area.  When reserving a snow cone machine for your event, please make sure you know the answer to these five questions.

  1. Was the snow cone machine sanitized after its previous use?  We have found that though most companies follow this rule (which should be a given), there are still a few companies that leave the cleanliness and safety of the snow cone machine up to the customer.  This lack of concern could turn your perfect party into a caravan to your local hospital if the wrong germs are spread.
  2. Will you provide us with instructions on how to use the snow cone machine?  Again, usually Indianapolis companies who take pride in their customer service will do this as it is an obvious requirement to maintain the safety and smooth operation of your party.  Even if you are a snow cone making pro, your service provider should  at least offer you the option of watching them explain and go through the steps of operating a snow cone machine. It is actually really easy to do, but everything may not be obvious if you have never done it before.
  3. Do you provide ice?  Often times customers assume that ice is provided at delivery with snow cone machines.  I am not aware of any company in the local area who delivers ice with snow cone machines.  Usually bacause we are coming to you from another delivery location – in the middle of summer – when it’s 90 degrees.  Not exactly prime conditions to deliver ice.
  4. Where’d my machine ride? I’ve seen it to many times, delivery companies pulling up to a customers house, getting out of the vehicle, and grabbing the snow cone machine off of the back of a pick up truck.  This is unacceptable for safety’s sake.  Not sanitary at all for something that will be dispensing food for your guests to have.  If a company has a concession machine on the back of a truck, it should AT LEAST be covered and sealed in a protective bag.  Otherwise, I would reclean the machine after it is left at your party.

  5. Where can I get my own flavors?  As some customers are on a budget, your concession machine rental company should be able to offer you options as far as cheaper flavorings.  The “real” snow cone flavorings are rather expensive.  We at Planet Bounce Rentals make no money off of our flavorings if extra flavors are ordered.  Keep in mind you have two alternative options:  make some yourself, or visit Walmart.  Not the best tasting stuff but it will work and is considerably cheaper.
